Welcome

I don't know how/why you have found yourself here, but while you're about, check out my musing on life. Warning, I will not be held accountable if you suddenly find yourself hating the world.

Too much coffee Part I

Hi again...
So I went onto MySpace today for the first time in a while (probably close to 3 years), and I found a list of things I wanted to achieve by the time I was 21, and seeing as that has come I wanted to look back at what I wanted to have done by this time in my life. I will show you the list and then look at each one in turn.

Watch all the Die Hard films in one day
Have sex while playing frogger [Taken from Scrubs :)]
Drive over a big bridge in a convertable.
Say whats up to Dave Grohl
Punch a bear in the face.
Drink so much I have to have my stomach pumped.
Go to Reading Festival
Applied/ be at University.
Race someone in wheelchairs.
Brew my own beer.
Do the ballon message thing.
Sleep outside with no tent.
Learn to bartend.
  1. Watch all the Die Hard films in one day - DONE : It says quite a lot that this is one of the first things that came to mind when I thought about what I wanted to achieve in the next 4 years. But I have done it, and I don't think I even meant to, it was just a hungover day in Bath...
  2. Have sex while playing Frogger - DONE: Standard, and if you find the game easy normally, try it. It's a bit harder  to concentrate.
  3. Drive over a big bridge in a convertible - FAILED: What was I thinking?! One, I would have to have enough money to buy/the balls to steal a convertible. Obviously this didn't happen, but I suppose it showed that I wanted freedom and some sense of importance.
  4. Say "What's up?!" to Dave Grohl - FAILED: Foo Fighters were one of my favourite bands at the time, and to me, Dave Grohl was the coolest guy on the planet. But whenever the gigs came around close to were I live, I was always broke or busy, so this was another target that kept getting postponed.
  5. Punch a bear in the face - FAILED: WTF?!
  6. Drink so much I have to have my stomach pumped - DONE: Well, they don't pump your stomach anymore, but I woke up in hospital on a drip with alcohol poisoning, shows what I enjoyed doing at 17.
  7. Go to Reading Festival - DONE: Went. had to much fun I went back the next year. But now with Uni and work, stuff like this has had to take a back seat. It's a shame because I look back at the few days you spend at a festival and think that they were easily the most fun you can have in a tent and a field.
  8. Applied/Be at Uni - DONE: Currently studying at Bath Uni, best choice I have made to date. Met some amazing people.
  9. Race someone in wheelchairs - DONE: Nothing malicious intended, just saw it in a lot of films and TV shows, and it looked like fun. It was.
  10. Brew my own beer - DONE: Warning, don't add anything extra. For some reason we thought it might need extra vodka, came out at 15% proof, and hurt to drink.
  11. Do the Balloon message thing - DONE: Put a message tied to a balloon filled with Helium, and let it off, back when I had a small amount of faith in Humanity.
  12. Sleep outside with no tent - DONE: Would like to make this clear, I had this idea before I heard anything about Brokeback Mountain. I thought it would give you a sense of the scale of Nature and being part of this world, but it was just fucking cold.
  13. Learn to bartend - DONE: Mum owning a pub did make this one of the easier statements to achieve on the list. People slate the job, but its one of the best I have ever had.
10/13, I don't think that's too bad.
Hopefully it might have inspired you to create a similar list, maybe for a different age range, but the best advice I can give is not to limit your ideas, go crazy.
